POSITIVE MODELING STRATEGY FOR SOCIAL,
SELF-HELP AND BEHAVIORAL SKILLS ACQUISITION!
Children with developmental and learning disabilities are often
able to acquire positive social, self-help and/or behavioral skills
through visual media that model desired actions and attitudes, provide
cues or prompts. and specify the sequence of events necessary to
accomplish the task. |
SPECIAL KIDS Step-By-Step©
Behavior Models
have been created to assist learners with special needs —
and their parents — in this important mission. Behavior
Models are presented in numbered, worded, illustrated
sequence of actions from start to finish. Through visual (pointing)
or verbal (spoken number or action) prompts from others, children
learn to associate the illustrated actions in their proper sequence.
Gradual removal of prompts seeks to enable special learners to ultimately
accomplish the task independently.
